Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it.
[Bukhari]

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that "Alif, Laam, Meem" is a letter, rather I am saying that "Alif" is a letter, "laam" is a letter and "meem" is a letter.
[Tirmidhi, Darimi – Sh. Al-Albany classified it as authentic]

The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses (because he doesn't know how to read it but is trying to), then he will have two rewards.
[Bukhari & Muslim]

The Prophet said, The example of a believer who recites the Qur'an and acts on it, like a citron which tastes nice and smells nice. And the example of a believer who does not recite the Qur'an but acts on it, is like a date which tastes good but has no smell. And the example of a hypocrite who recites the Qur'an is like a Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Quran is like a colocynth which tastes bitter and has a bad smell
[Bukhari & Muslim]

‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.
[Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Ibn Habbaan]

The Prophet said, Continue reciting the Qur'an because on the Day of Qiyaamah it will appear as an intercessor for the reciter.
[Muslim]

The Prophet said, on the Day of Resurrection the Qur'an will petition Allah to cloak the one who had recited it with garments of honor and respect. A crown of honor will then be placed on the head of the reciter. The Qur'an will then petition Allah to shower His pleasure on the reciter. Allah will then become pleased with him. The reciter will then be asked to recite the Qur'an, thereby attaining higher ranks of elevation. In reward for each ayat a virtue will accrue to him.
[Tirmidhi, Al-hakim, Ibn Khuzaimah, Sh. Al-Abany classified it as authentic]

The Prophet said, Whoever recited the Quran, learnt it and practiced on its laws will dress his parents on the day of Resurrection a crown that its glitter like the brilliance of the sun and will dress them two cloaks better than the world. They (parents) will say: how did we gain this? It will be said: by your child's memorizing the Quran
[Al-hakim – Sheikh Al-Albany classified it as good]

The Prophet said, if the Quran was collected in a skin, Allah won't burn it in hell
[Al-Bayhaqy- Sh. Al-Albany classified it as good]

One day, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came out to us while we were on the Suffah and asked:
'Which of you would like to go out to the open country or a valley every day and fetch for himself two beautiful, black camels?' (Such camels were considered prize possessions. )
'Everyone of us would like that, O Messenger of God,' we all replied.
'Now,' he said, 'each one of you should go to the mosque and learn two ayats (verses) of the Book of God. This is better for him than two camels; three verses are better than three camels; four verses are better than four camels (and son)."
[Muslim]

The Prophet said, there is no envy (acceptable) except in two (cases): a person whom Allah has given the Qur'an and recites it throughout the night and throughout the day. And a person whom Allah has given wealth, that he gives out throughout the night and throghout the day.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet said, maintain learning the Qur'an, by heart for verily it is greater in escaping from the chests of men than camels from their reins.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet said, verily Allah raises nations by this book (the Qur'an) and puts down (i.e. destroys) others by it.
[Muslim]
